Lots of beer…

So, I haven’t written anything for the last month, and I hope Mona will not kill me… (please… *puppy eyes*).
The last month has been intense. I don’t remember much stuff from the weekends, because of “you know why” reasons. One of those weekends was in Brussels. To be hones, I’ve heard bad stuff about the city, but I was amazed! It’s b e a utiful! First we went through Liege. Nothing special to see there. I stole a glühwein cup from the Christmas market… (ah, these Burglarians!). Then we reached the center of Brussels. These people know how to decorate their city in Christmas time. There was a street over which were put different constellations made of lights and on the main square was put a huge tree. All the old Gothic-style buildings on that square were enlightened in different colours and at 20 o’clock they put music and there was a lights show, playing in the rhythm of the music.
Btw, the fried potatoes (aka french fries) actually come from Belgium. Anyway, it was time for pubs. First, warm up in a cozy pub with delicious Krieg and then… DELIRIUUUUUM !!! For those of you who haven’t heard of it – it’s an enormous pub, famous all over the world with the fact that they have more than 2000 brands of beer in their stash. I met a Danish girl there and spoke with her in Danish… don’t know how that happened. Anyway, screw the different types of beer. Why drink some bad-tasting stuff from China or Colombia, when you can drink amazingly delicious, better tasting than rainbow, 12% alcohol Belgian dark beer. Well, I was with some Robmanians there, so we drank mucho of those head-kicking beverages. The following are my memories from the rest of the night:-> meet random people + go to a club with them + enter a striptease club by myself (and run out, screaming “I am just a poor student”) + ride a shopping cart + wander unknowingly the streets of Bruseels with some other random people + almost get in a fight with a drunk girl.
Here, around Christmas, everything intensifies. Aachen is filled with tourists coming just for the Christmas market, the Lindt factory next to my dorm works on 140% and I can smell chocolate 24/7, the students party like it’s the end of the world, but not the year… And one of my colleagues is leaving as her internship is over. We had an awesome 2 almost non-memorable nights in a row and mucho dances and fun. I will miss you, Alexandracula!
My Forro dancing is improving. After all, I am trying really hard, because I have to impress mutissimo that one Carioca! And those Brazilians… oh, man, those crazy people! They can literally inject you with life and positive emotions! When I come back DK, I’m gonna show you guys the “Thunderstruck” game! And if you’re a European and you ever have the possibility to meet a bunch of Latinos or go to Latin America – seize that chance! You’re gonna adore it! Otherwise, I will let you slap me…😀
Work’s great! I hope I will stay fit, because the unlimited amount of Coca-Cola and sweets/chocolates/snickers, etc., are really tempting… Last 2 weeks I was improving and adding new functionality to a search engine for products in one of the projects I am working on. The back-end part was all good in the hood. The front-end part is pain in the ass! That JavaScript killed every nerve in my body. And if you have to do front-end with much functionality or refactoring of a big module of code – first pray to God and then start with the work.
So, enough for today. I have to prepare mentally for all the chocolate that I have to buy tomorrow, as I made the mistake to tell my friends and family that I live right next a Lindt factory and they have a cheap shop there. So, of course, now I have to send to everybody. No, I am not gonna send some to you!
Marry Christmas and Awesome New Year, and I will write next year!
Suruba!
